Apple Day

Ever heard of Apple Day? Well, it’s a day of apples! On Saturday 18th October, it was Apple Day. It’s when the scouts of Canada give up apples for fundraising, and I was one of them. At 9:15 in the morning, the scouts had to go to a meeting place and polish the apples. After we polish enough apples, we grab baskets and go to a location.

The location I had to go to by myself was Tim Hortons! There were tons of people there in the morning, because they all want a coffee and some sugary timbits for energy. I stood by the Tim Horton’s door and asked for donations for two whole hours! Part of it was fun, but people saying no to me were very annoying. After an hour of bad luck, I decided to try a new tactic. I always opened the door for the customers, and they would feel that I’m a good person, and when they come out they always gave me a donation. It’s a very evil tactic, but it works like a charm!

It was taking forever! I felt like I would just fall down and sleep. My arm got very tired, and that was only because the people who make donations don’t always want an apple, and after some time my arm was aching. I never got rid of all the apples, but I think I got at least $35.
